Do game systems never go on sale? Or down in price?

From Xbox, Game Cube and PS3 have been out for a while (more than Wii) have been cost less than ever when it came out first? Any chance to download Wii EVER? I'm not going to wait if ever happens as I do for children and family for Christmas, but just curious. I have however seen some Wii games fall in prices on the shelves.

I'm assuming you want say PS2, not PS3. Yes, gaming systems is lowered prices over time, but that does not usually happen for a few years. I think the Gamecube does not go down in price until it had been out for about three years. There is no way that the Wii will be reduced in price this Christmas. It is still very popular, so Nintendo has no incentive to reduce the price. Because game companies are setting the price, not game systems go on sale for a weekend or something. A retailer has no choice when it comes to console pricing.
