Exergaming The trend continues to rise as people become more intent on staying in shape, but are less willing to go to the gym. There may be several reasons why home-based fitness to return to the current with the cost of being the dominant factor in most of the above.
The popularity of Wii Fit is allowing normal family members experience a level of entertainment, while getting a workout for a nominal fee and in the comfort of your own home. This is especially true when the weather is cold and the idea of getting into a car to go to the local gym is less than attractive.
2 studies conducted at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse Exercise and Health Program focused on two different programs exergame to determine if there actually was true aerobic benefits for these applications.
The results were as follows:
1. The Wii Fit 2 X burned the calories of a standard video game that requires no other physical activity to move a standard controller.
2. The Wii Sports Pack helped the operator complies with the minimum standards of activity-based movements emerged during games
3. Dancetown The program envisages a significant increase in rate of burning calories, as levels of intensity.
4. Subjects older Dancetown in the study were invited to attend three consecutive dance songs with varying degrees of difficulty. The 30-minute session burned an average 136 calories.
In summary, the study suggests that implementation Dancetown always more opportunities to increase activity and the rate of burning calories than a standard application for Wii. Based on this study, the Wii may be more suitable for low-impact yoga or other activities based applications as more Dancetown can provide aerobic benefits.
